Welcome to the bi-Studentenclub!
Since 1968, bi Student Club has been an essential part of campus life in Ilmenau — making us the oldest student club in town. Founded by students for students, the club is still run entirely by volunteers and shaped by the people who bring it to life. Our name “bi” comes from Block I, the student residence where the club originally started.
At bi, you can leave university stress behind, meet new people, and enjoy relaxed evenings in good company. On Fridays, we regularly open for Afterwork & Burgerküche: great burgers, cold drinks, and an easy-going start to the weekend. In addition, we host events such as karaoke nights, music evenings, themed parties, and many other activities.
One of our special highlights is our whisky bar, which is open at every event. With around 100 whiskies from all over the world and a constantly changing selection, it is well worth a visit — whether you are just curious or already know your way around a good dram.
Whenever time allows, we also open for Sonntagsküche. These evenings are all about homemade food, a cosy atmosphere, and coming together rather than big party vibes.
But bi is more than just a place for events. As a member — affectionately called a Clubei — you can also use the club outside regular opening hours: to study, meet friends, or simply enjoy it as a second living room on campus.
